Saturday, March 18, 2017

Hello my Lovlies — Happy Super Saturday!!

Today on my Saturdays with Cynthia post I am going to share our (me and my husband Chuck's) new ProForm treadmill purchase.

Like most you every I make

New Year's resolution to get fit, healthy and lose weight.  Then come every December 31st I've done practically nothing to achieve that goal.

This year we decided to do something about it.  I know, I know it's already the middle of March and I've done absolutely nothing towards achieving that goal.

Well that's about to change.  Yesterday my hubby (Chuck) ordered us a ProForm 705 CST Treadmill.

Check out the specs on this baby (below).

The ProForm 705 CST Treadmill

The Buzz

The ProForm 705 CST treadmill has a good sized 2.5 CHP Mach Z™ Commercial Motor, a power incline motor than lifts the deck up to a 12% incline, the air-based ProShox™ Elite 2 Cushioning, and a 20" x 55" walking area. For entertainment, you get two built-in speakers and an mp3 dock for playing your favorite music during workouts. The sensors in the handlebars let you easily take your pulse reading while walking or running. The ProForm 705 CST also features a folding design with an easy hydraulic lift mechanism to lift the treadmill deck and store it out of the way.
If your home has WiFi, you can take advantage of the iFit Live™ to access the internet site and download more programs, including those designed by Jillian Michaels, and load Google Maps for interactive and virtual street runs all over the world.

Click on the arrow above to see a YouTube video of the machine in action.

I think one of the best (and coolest) advantages to this treadmill is its ability to take advantage of iFit.  This allows you to download more programs, including those designed my Jillian Michaels, and load Google maps for interactive and virtual street runs all over the world.

I'll do a separate post about iFit at a later date.

Anyway, our treadmill isn't expected to arrive until March 29th.  While I'm waiting for the treadmill I decided starting today that I am dedicated to losing some weight.

With that in mind, today I started on the Beach Bodies Shakeology (shakes) and eating plan.  I will do some separate posts on that also.

I am very excited about our decision to take action on our health and fitness.

Wish us luck!!!

Friday Favorites — St. Patrick's Day Recipes

Friday, March 17, 2017

Hello my Lovlies — Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!!!

For Cynthia's Friday Favorites (and being that it's also St. Patrick's Day) I thought I'd share some of my favorite St. Patrick's Day recipes.

The inspiration (commentary) and some of the pictures came from Epicurious

These little green St. Patrick's Day cupcakes with white chocolate and pistachios look so good I decided to talk about dessert first.

How good does this golden Colcannon pie look?  This pie is a classic combination of mashed potatoes with cabbage or kale; it's standard winter fare in Ireland.

Get the recipe here

Believe it or not the national dish of Ireland is not corned beef and cabbage.  In fact, holiday or not they rarely if ever make and/or serve corned beef and cabbage.

As it turns out Irish stew is the great national dish of Ireland.  Having said that, here is the recipe for this yummy Irish stew.

For the best results, Rachel Allen (chef) suggests asking for thick chops on the bone.

If you are anything like me and you made (or, are making) corned beef and cabbage for St. Patrick's Day here is an awesome recipe for any leftover corned beef you may have.

Yes, it's grilled corned beef and fontina (cheese) sandwiches.  What a delicious way to use leftovers!

Find the recipe here

There you have it my Lovlies — my favorite 2017 St. Patrick's Day recipes.

If so, you'll lve this light and oh so heavenly cucumber, honeydew and mint mojito by Sarah over at the Thyme Food Blog uniquely refreshing.

Make My Monday Pretty — National Chicken Noodle Soup Day

Monday, March 13, 2017

Hello my Lovlies — Happy Monday!

Well my Lovlies, today (March 13th) is National Chicken Noodle Soup Day! Can you believe that we have a National day observing soup?

Anyway, if this is your idea of chicken noodle soup
I've got a few recipes to share with you that'll change your mind about chicken soup.

On a cold winter day, this hearty old-fashioned chicken noodle soup is practically a meal in itself.

This recipe appeared in Epicurious online; they, however, found it (the recipe) in a Bon Appétit magazine from 1998.  That just goes to show you chicken soup never goes out of style.

Doesn't this homestyle chicken noodle soup from Jacquline over at Go Go Go Gourmet look great?

Check out her website (link above) where she features recipes that are created from everyday, easy-to-find basic ingredients, and put together with minimal time and energy.  Sound pretty good to me!!!!!

I absolutely lve this new twist on an old favorite.  Take a look at this Mexican chicken noodle soup recipe by Jessie Schupack over on Food 52

Here's another take on good old-fashioned chicken noodle soup. Take a gander at Laurie from Relishing It's Vietmamese Pho version of chicken noodle soup.  Doesn't this version look fresh and healthy?

Anyway my Lovlies, there you have it my tribute to National chicken noodle soup day.

What's Up Wednesday — St. Patrick's Day French Inspired Mani's

Wednesday, March 1, 2017

Hello my Lovlies — Happy   Wonderful Wednesday!!!!

To for Cynthia's What's Up Wednesday I am going to share some of my favorite French inspired St. Paddy's day manis.

Wow, Natalie over at Heart Nat does it again with this super cool green and gold marbleized French manicure.

If this doesn't say Happy St. Patrick's Day I don't know what does.

This green French manicure with white clovers by Danielle over at The Polished Nail is a clever new take on the traditional pink and white French manicure.

Check out her website (link above) to see the polish colors and stamping plate she used to create this mani.

I absolutely lve this pink and glitter green French mani with nail art by Nails by Becky.

The leprechaun belt nail art and white clovers really set off the mani don't you think?

Isn't this mint green and emerald glitter French mani posted by Danica over Nails2Match just too darn cute?

I especially like the adorable little green frog surrounded by clovers as an accent nail — very clever.

There you are my Lovlies, my picks for St. Patrick's French inspired manis.
