What's Up Wednesday — Nail Technology School for Me!!

Wednesday, December 21, 2016

Hello my Lovlies!!!!

What's up this Wednesday you ask. Well, I thought I'd share with you that I am going to be attending Nail Technology school.

I am starting starting January 16, 2017 (wow that feels weird to type 2017).

I am going to be attending the College of Hair Design Careers in Salem, Oregon.

Most of my Lovlies know about my ankle injury and subsequent surgery last June.  If for some reason you don't know about my injury here are the pictures from June/July (one month after my ORIF surgery).

This is the side view of my left ankle one month after my ORIF surgery

This was the top view of my left ankle

This is an x-ray that was taken immediately after my ORIF surgery.  I currently have 2 plates and 19 screws in my left ankle.

In November I went to my last orthopedic appointment where my doctor proceeded to tell me that I'd NEVER be able to stand / walk on my ankle for any long period of time.

In keeping with what my doctor told me, I had an aha moment.  I've always wanted to be a cosmetologist, but I knew I couldn't stand all day doing hair.

Then it came to me — I can sit all day and do nails. Which if you know me that's right up my alley (lol).

In the state of Oregon

600 hours of theory and application are required to get your nail tech license.

So, if I go to school full-time I should be done in 4 or 5 months (yeah!).

With that in mind, if any of you Lovlies are in the Salem Oregon area come see me and have your nails done (by me) at the student salon.
