Make My Monday Pretty — Pretty Inspirational || Motivational Messages

Monday, February 29, 2016

I'm on on a mission today!!!! As most of you know by now I am in consultative sales. That being said, sometimes (well...most of the time) you have to find/discover new ways of inspiring and motivating yourself.  Well, since it's leap year Monday (and all) I've decided to do my post about pretty things that are inspirational || motivational to me.

I'm not sure where this saying came from (there appears to be some controversy), but I sure do like it.  I especially l♥ve the typography in the depiction above.

I l♥ve this quote for those of us that have to be a little more assertive in their consultative approach.

Below is another awesome freebie from Michelle at Elegance and Enchantment.

Thank you Victoria for a nice presentation of this inspiration quote.

Okay, now you've seen a sliver of what consultants have to do each and every day just to motivate themselves.

The little engine that could (lol)

Spiritual Sunday — Cultivating Intimacy with God

Sunday, February 28, 2016

Article by David Truman || Graphics by Cynthia Renée

Like in any relationship, the quality of our communications with God affects how the relationship feels. Prayer comes in many flavors and qualities, but true prayer is an honest and loving exchange in which we talk to God in the spirit of sweet intimacy, and listen to Him with an open heart. Here are some suggestions to help you to maintain a good, intimate, strong relationship with God:
1. Accept the Presence of God

First we need to accept that God is with us right now. No use trying to communicate otherwise! When we pray with the presumption that God is far away, we're presenting God with a difficult situation:

How can we possibly have an intimate conversation with a God who (we think) is not here? And,
How can God talk to US under those conditions?
Know that God is not elsewhere, hearing (or not hearing) our prayers from far away. God is always beside us, within us, and all around us. He knows what's on our minds. She understands what's in our hearts, so deeply, from within.

Have confidence that God hears and responds to every whisper of your heart. So, talk to God not as a distant authority figure, but as your present Beloved; and speak to Him knowing that you are beloved of God. This is the basis for good, meaningful, and functional prayer.
2. Bringing our presents/presence to God

Remember that prayer is a gift to God -- not just a request for something from God. When we bring loving attitudes and intentions to God in prayer, She is happy. This is our present to the Omnipresent.

And "bringing our presence" also refers to being with God in spirit, in mind, and in heart. It pains God when we forget Her, or try to go about our lives without Her. She is delighted when we remember Her and want to consciously be with Her. No kidding -- delighted!

We tend to think that God doesn't need us, but She does. She yearns for a deep relationship with us. She needs our love, our attention, our loyalty. And, just as in any human relationship, the only effective way to develop a deep and fulfilling intimacy with God is to love Her.

So friends, may all our prayers be sincere communications of deep affinity, intimacy, and love. May they all be powerful affirmations of the truth and goodness of the relationship with God. That will gladden the heart of the Beloved, and make the relationship functional in the heart.

5 Friday Favorites — Cynthia's 5 Favorite Movies

Friday, February 26, 2016

Besides the first movie listed (Silence of the Lambs) the rest of my favorite movie picks are in no particular order.

My all time favorite movie is Silence of the Lambs.  I think I've probably seen it over 1,000 times.

There were some great lines in this movie.  Check of some of the great quotes at this address

Next is Casino. I just love the outfits that Ginger (Sharon Stone's character) had on in the movie.

Sharon Stone is beautiful as Ginger

What's not to l♥ve about the classic 12 Angry Men.

I don't think this did that well at the box office, but I believe this Kathy and Jennifer's best work ever.  It's definitely worth renting.

Last but certainly not least, is Indiana Jones Raiders of the Lost Ark.

So, those area my top 5 movie picks.  Let me know your favorite movies by commenting below or

Spirituality Sunday — What does the Bible say L♥ve is?

Sunday, February 14, 2016

Today is Valentine's Day and we all think of hearts, kisses & hugs, flowers, candy, and perhaps a romantic dinner together.  But what does the Bible say about love?

The Bible Says L♥ve Is An Action
By Rick Warren

“Dear children, let’s not merely say that we lve each other; let us show the truth by our actions.” (1 John 3:18 (NLT)

If you really lve someone, then you show it by how you act toward that person.

Lve is more than attraction and more than arousal. It’s also more than sentimentality, like so many of today’s songs suggest. By this standard, is lve dead when the emotion is gone? No, not at all, because lve is an action, and a behavior.

Over and over again in the Bible, God commands us to lve each other, and you can’t command an emotion. If I told you right now, “Be sad!” you couldn’t be sad on cue. Just like an actor, you can fake it, but you’re not wired for your emotions to change on command.

If lve were just an emotion, then God couldn’t command it. But lve is something you do. It can produce emotion, but lve is an action.
The Bible says, “Let’s not merely say that we lve each other; let us show the truth by our actions” (1 John 3:18 NLT). We can talk a good act: “I love people.” But do we really lve them? Our love is revealed in how we act toward them.

How will you reveal to others that you lve them today? Be specific. Think about each member of your family. How can you show your lve to _____ (your spouse, your children, your boss, your community, your church, etc.?
